Race Day information and Instructions.

Location

Race HQ is at Roberttown Community Centre, Church Road, Liversedge WF15 7LS. A map is attached below showing the carparks, race HQ and race start/finish area.

Parking

Unfortunately, parking is quite restricted throughout the village and although car parks are available for competitors, we would ask you to car share where possible.

Car parks are available at various places around the village and are all signposted; with none more than ½ mile from the start/finish area. Marshals will be on hand to direct traffic to the car parks from all routes into the village centre and will be available to assist you with any problems.

Please be aware that our marshals are needed elsewhere for the start and throughout the duration of the race, therefore the car parks will not be staffed after 9:45am.

Registration

All race numbers are to be collected on race day from Race HQ. Registration opens from 8.00am.

Please pin your race number onto the front of your t-shirt or vest. Note that timing chips are attached to the back of race numbers and race timing will be managed by UKResults. Please DO NOT swap your race number with any other runner.

Please note we do not accept entries on the day.

Facilities

There are toilets, changing and baggage facilities at Race HQ, however no showers are available.

Food and drinks will be on sale at Race HQ before, during and after the race.

Race Start

The Half Marathon starts at 10.00am prompt, with the 10K starting at 10:30am from Commonside, which is a 3-minute walk from Race HQ. The Commonside is closed to traffic before and after the race.

Athletes must not be accompanied by dogs or followed by supporters on cycles.

For your safety, the only headphones allowed are Bone Conduction Sports Headphones, all others are not permitted due to the fact that the race takes place on relatively busy roads.

Course

The routes are shown on the map below. The route is mainly through rural areas and is testing in places. It is fully mile marked and will be controlled by our marshals; please follow their instructions at all times.

The start and finish area, together with all parts of the course, are staffed by our own officials and marshals. They are fully briefed and able to assist you with any enquiries you may have.

First Plus Medical will be in attendance throughout the race. Please help assist medical staff, should an emergency arise during the race, by completing the reverse of your race number with any medical conditions, allergies, and medication information.

Water Stations

Runners are encouraged to bring their own water to the race however water stations will be available and positioned at approximately 4 miles, 8 miles and 11 miles.

Race Finish

The race finishes back at the Commonside, where it started.

Roberttown Road Runners welcome and encourage ALL runners, whatever age, and ability. Therefore, the finish area on the Commonside will remain open until the last runner crosses the line, regardless of time.

However, please note that we will start to withdraw our marshals, in stages, from the course approximately 2 ½ hours after the start. If you feel it will take you longer than 2 ½ hours to complete the course, please speak to our staff at race registration when you pick up your race number. We will provide you with a map and directions for completing the race.

There will be a sweeper vehicle on the course to follow the last runner and ensure that all competitors complete the race. If for any reason a runner drops out, or requires assistance, they will be picked up by the sweep vehicle.

Notice to Competitors

Due to the time of year weather conditions may be less than ideal. For this reason, the race may have to be delayed or postponed until later in the year.

In the event of adverse weather conditions, you may telephone Peter Knott on 07918 619442, between 7.00am and 9.00am on race day, for confirmation of whether the race is going ahead or not.

If the race is cancelled, for any reason, there will be no refund available to competitors however race mementos will be available for collection on request.
